So what if I haven't updated my blog in ages?! Truth be told, I've only found the time to update now because of one special request. I guess there is someone out there who wants to see pics of our growing fam and Tytan's new haircut. Yes it's true...we've chopped off his beautiful curls. Weird at first...but he is so stinkin cute that it's grown on us. So we've been having a great time enjoying summer with a new baby! Tytan started swim lessons and he is doing great! Griffen went swimming for the first time and loved it! Here are a few pics from our recent summer happenings:

An Update...

So I haven't updated in FOREVER...surprise surprise. But, we do have some exciting news! Baby Boy number 2 will be here in less than 2 weeks! We're being induced on the 27th and we are soooo excited. Can't wait to post pics of the lil cutie! In the meantime, here are a few random pics from our adventures in the last couple months.

Randall's dad spent some time in the hospital and everytime we went to visit Tytan thought it was his time to be pampered as the 'patient' and watch a movie. Here he is in full relaxation.

Tytan loves his cousins! He and Danica love to give squeezes and kisses so we snapped a pic of them in action. So cute!

Daddy, Tytan, and Uncle Richard all handsomed up for Uncle Edward and Aunt Renelle's wedding. Randall and Richard were the 2 Best Men and they looked dashing in their tuxedos.

We stopped by and got Tytan an ice cream cone after one of my doctor's appointments. . .he Loved it! Randall asked him for a bite and instead of sharing, he dipped his finger in the ice cream and then pointed it at Randall for a lil lick. It was hilarious considering he was taking monster bites but didn't want to give Daddy any!

New Family Pics...and Some Exciting News!

So it has been AGES since I've posted...I know, I know! Life has been crazy around here! I started a new job at the beginning of November and it is keeping me super busy. It's a really great opportunity and something we thought long and hard about. I'm working more hours now than before, but hopefully in a very short time it will pay off and I will be able to spend more time at home. I mean who wouldn't want more time at home with this cutie?

We decided we were well over due for some family pictures. So, Randall called up our friend Natalie Montes and scheduled a time for our pics. They turned out soooo great! We love them! Natalie rocks and we're so grateful she was able to make our pics. Thanks Natalie!

And Last, but certainly not least...We're expecting! Baby #2 is due May 31st...and we couldn't be more excited. Randall is hoping for a girl and I will be happy with either, but I do have a feeling it's gonna be a girl. We should find out in the next couple of weeks! So excited!

Our adorable lil Pirate had an awesome Birthday Bash with all of his friends and family present. I cannot thank everyone enough for all of the help in decorating the church, preparing the food, and pampering our birthday boy! He had a great time and we partied until late that night with an incredible Dinner, Dancing, Walking the Plank, a Best Dressed Pirate Contest, Pinata, Cotton Candy and much more!

Captain Tytan made an appearance on the top of his Pirate Cake. We were seriously pressed for time, so this is not the cake we had anticipated, but we're just happy we made it there with a cake at all!

Houseboat!!

So, I'm sad to say that my dad is selling his share of our awesome Houseboat. We've had some killer times living it up in luxury at Lake Powell, but unfortunately times are tough and none of us manage to find the time or money with young families to head out there. Needless to say, our loss could be your gain! If you are interested in acquiring a share, my Dad is offering an unbelievable price. $10,000 OBO!! We have incredible weeks in June and the Beginning of October (which happens to be the best time...perfect weather and no crowds hoggin the lake!), plus additional lottery weeks. Tytan is getting ready to celebrate his first birthday in September and we're hosting a Pirate Party! So we dressed him up to take some cute Pirate pics for his invitations. Randall and I have been having so much fun creating cakes for every occasion. Over the weeekend we made two. The first was a Killian's Irish Red Beer Keg for my buddy Jason's birthday. I didn't even know where to begin considering I've never seen a real live keg, but google has pictures of everything. We were really happy with the outcome!

Next, Randall wanted to make a purse cake for his co-worker, Gloria. He had a design in mind and we got to work late Sunday night. I worked on the cake while he worked on the details. The finished product was beautiful. Randall did all of the intricate detail work and he did amazing! Hope you agree!

Over the past couple of weeks we've taken a few trips and I'm just barely getting around to blogging. We first started off with a road trip to St. George for Randall's cousins' wedding. Tytan was such a good boy and the wedding was beautiful. Here are a few pics:

Daddy let Tytan drive for a minute during a major delay on the way home. He was a pro!

Then the time quickly came for my boss to take us on our annual trip for making last years goals. This trip was to an all-inclusive resort in Cozumel, Mexico! We had a great time! Tytan was such a good boy on the long flights and the lay overs. What a blessing it is to have such a sweet baby. Here are a few pics from the trip ('a few' is a gross understatement!):

This was Tytan's very first time on an airplane. He loved looking out the window. . .

The first thing I wanted Tytan to experience was the beach. He was so tired, but he was a good sport so mommy could get some pictures of him playing in the sand.

We ventured into town one night for some 'real' food (namely tacos) and had a good time hanging with Polly and her hubby Brandon. Unfortunately, I think the cat meat, aka beef tacos gave me a nasty parasite. Oh well, weight loss here I come!

I'm not sure who enjoyed the Kiddy Pirate Pool more, Tytan or Daddy! Randall must have taken Tytan down that slide 1000 times. He is such a good daddy and they had a blast together!

Wayne took us on a snorkeling trip by catamaran. The reef was beautiful and we saw sea turtles, flying fish, barracuda, and so much more. To top it off, the outing ended with a beautiful sunset.

This is Tytan napping in the pool. He loved his lil floaty and would get so relaxed he'd dose right off to sleep!

Tytan was sad to end his vacation. As we departed from Cozumel he stared out the window wishing we could stay forever. Thanks again Wayne for the awesome vacation!

Lake Trip and Mother's Day!

We had a fun weekend with so much going on. We started off with a trip to the lake on Saturday. I hadn't been wakeboarding in almost 2 years and I was dying to go! It was also Tytan's first trip to the lake. He had a great time hanging out with Nana and Papa and he even got to drive Papa's boat! The only thing missing. . .? Daddy! Randall had to work so he couldn't make it, but we sure did miss him!

So Randall decided to enroll me in a cake decorating class for Mother's Day. I was so excited! What a great gift! And the best part. . .he's taking the class with me! He's going to be my cake decorating partner. So, on Saturday night Randall and I were up way late working on a few special occasion cakes! I did a Tinkerbell Cake for my Niece Jadyn's birthday. I was happy with the outcome and Randall and I enjoyed working on it together (although we did have a few stressful moments!).

Randall wanted to do a Mother's Day cake for all the women in his family and he did a great job! I am so proud of him! He came up with the design for the cake and executed it with ease.

We also celebrated Kristin's birthday last week, so I made up a quick cake (nothing exciting) for her birthday. I thought I'd post a few pics:

So Randall's cousin Kalli has a birthday coming up next week and her theme is Hot Pink with Zebra stripes. I thought it would be fun to make a cake that went along with her theme. Now I've never before even made a basic cake from scratch, nor decorated a cake with anything but plain ol' frosting and candles...but since I watch food network all the time, I figured it can't be that hard right? Well...I was wrong! I spent Friday night making the fondant to top the cake, and literally ALL day Saturday working on the silly cake. I finally finished it up at about 11 last night! Unfortunately, this was just a practice run for next week! But, I was proud of the overall outcome and I think I will be much faster and better the second time around.

We started off our Easter fesitivities at an egg hunt hosted by Randall's boss. It was all new for Tytan, but he caught on quick and loved it! Thanks Sharon for the fun day!

Then, we had an egg hunt at my parents. The company was great and the food was delicious. Thanks Mom & Dad!

Easter Sunday came and we visited with my family first. Tytan loved his basket from Nana!

Then we took pictures with all the McClure grandbabies. My mom made these BEAUTIFUL dresses for all of the girls and bought these handsome outfits for the boys. They all looked so cute together! Mom, you're seriously amazing! We loved our Easter outfits!

It seems like only yesterday that we brought Tytan Arona Faiva home for the first time. We enjoy every moment we get to spend with our little MonkeyBear. It's hard to believe he is almost 7 months old now! He has been able to hold his bottles while feeding for a couple of months now. I started playing with ribbons and flowers the other day to make a bow for my niece, and found my new favorite hobby! I couldn't stop making bows and now lil' Dani has a bow for every outfit. I decided, at the encouragement of my husband, to offer my bow making services to anyone who would be interested. I only have a few variations posted, but I can make any kind of bow you'd like for any occasion! Every bow has a clip on the back so it can be attached to an infant headband or clipped right into the hair. Tytan has grown out of his infant bath tub, so I picked him up this inflatable Rubber Ducky tub. He loves it! The first time we put him in it he put his arms up on the sides and looked like he was in heaven. He's also old enough to enjoy playing with his bath toys now. He is so much fun!

Rich and Kristin moved in with us last weekend so we now have a house full of babies! It is fun having them here and the kids never get lonely. Randall and his brother Rich have started playing football for a semi-pro league in AZ. Kristin and I have fun going to their games every Saturday and watching our husbands tear it up on the field while we scream from the stands and wear our wives jerseys. Yesterday we took off to Sedona for an away game. They were short on players so both guys had to play majority of the game on both defense and offense. They played so well and killed the other team with a final result of 20-0. I'm so proud of Randall! Go Sting!

Pimpin Ain't Easy

A couple weeks ago we had Family Pictures with the whole Aiono Clan since everyone was in town for Justin's homecoming. We were all supposed to wear white, red, and black, so Kristin and I went out and bought outfits for the babies. Dani wore a beautiful new dress while Tytan and Kaimen showed up with their pimp suits on. Needless to say, they all looked so cute!

Poor lil Kaimen was knocked out. After all, pimpin ain't easy!

At the end of the day, a lil pimp still needs his diaper changed!

Christmas!

This was a fun year for us as it was Tytan's 1st Christmas! Is there anything better than Christmas with kids of your own to spoil? Randall and I had so much fun implementing our own lil traditions for our new family. We bought and decorated our real tree, set up our nativity, made (and ate!) gingerbread cookies, wrapped presents, sang Christmas songs, and Tytan even left out cookies and egg nog for Santa! I don't have many pictures, but these few are from Christmas morning:

Viva Las Vegas!

We decided to take a lil weekend trip to sin city for our anniversary. We probably should have had a romantic getaway on our own, but we couldn't stand to leave our lil boy behind so he came along. It was Tytan's first trip and he did so well! He slept the whole car ride and was so well behaved.

Randall loves his Xbox and in his free time he holds Tytan and they play together. It's pretty funny to watch because Tytan actually watches the game and gets excited about it. He soon decided he wanted to try it out for himself. So he climbed into daddy's big chair, grabbed the controller, and strapped on the headset to get his game on. It was too cute! And for those who can't read his shirt, it says "Hey Baby Wanna Go Back To My Crib?". He was such a lady's man in his little tee. Thanks for the cool shirt, Uncle Edward!

One Down, 100 to Go!!

We didn't have a chance to take pictures on Tytan's blessing day, so we got him dressed up in his blessing outfit and took pictures the following week at Kaimen and Danica's blessing. Daddy gave Tytan the most beautiful blessing. It was one of the sweetest moments since bringing our baby home. How blessed I am to have such a wonderful husband and daddy for my lil boy...Not to mention good lookin! Tytan and daddy looked so handsome in their suits!

Tytan's 1st Halloween

Tytan got all dressed up for his first Halloween. He was by far the cutest lil lobster I've ever seen! Daddy dressed up as a Lobster Fisherman who just so happened to get the catch of a lifetime! Mommy got all dolled up as a mermaid. . .and we were quite the fishy family. This was the most memorable and fun Halloween I've ever had. I loved spending it with my two favorite boys.

After going to the ward block party and eating chili, fry bread, and drinking homemade rootbeer, Tytan was pretty tuckered out. But, we still had some Trick-or-Treating to do! So, he gained up some strength, grabbed his pumpkin (he really did hold it all by himself!), and we took off. At the house of his very first Trick-or-Treat he collected some yummy candy and we got a picture to capture the moment.

We then ended the night with a visit to see cousins Danica & Kaimen. Dani was the cutest lil bunny and Kaimen was the most handsome monkey! It was fun having these sweet babies all together on their first Halloween.

Tytan has just started to learn how to smile. He loves his mobile in his crib so much that it makes him grin with glee! It's so fun to just talk and smile with him and have him smile in return. We sure do love this happy boy!

Chelsea, Tytan and I had a great time last night carving pumpkins for Halloween. Its always fun spending time as a family! We didn't have a small enough stensil for baby's pumpkin, so Big Daddy had to bust out some serious drawing skills to help baby design it. Needless to say, the Carve was a total success! Tytan's cousin Kaimen has finally made it home after 3 long months in the NICU. We are so happy he is home with his parents and sister Danica. We went to visit so Tytan could finally meet his cousin. It was so fun to have them all together!

I love this picture. Kaimen looks scared to death of the screaming kid next to him. Tytan was not much of a sport during the pictures, but deep down I know he was thrilled about meeting his cousin!

Bumbo Baby

I was trying to do Tytan's hair one day, but it's so hard to comb it and hold him at the same time. So, I thought we'd try out the Bumbo chair. This thing is awesome, and Tytan looked like such a big boy! He loves his Bumbo!

So. . .anyone who knows me knows that I am not much of a morning person. I think I got the nickname "Chelsea Bear" as a kid for being a real Bear in the morning when anyone would try to wake me up. Unfortunately it seems that my poor baby boy is not much of a morning person himself. He and I have been enjoying staying in bed until 10 most mornings and if he gets up any earlier. . .well, he looks just like his mommy!

This was the first meeting between Tytan and his beautiful cousin Danica. It was so fun to have them together! We can't wait for baby Kaimen to join us soon. We just love these sweet babies and are so lucky to have them in our family.

These two definitely come from the same family. So Cute!

Poor Tytan was very hungry and thought Danica's lil elbow was his bottle. He kept trying to suck on her arm to ease his hunger. Luckily for Danica, Tytan eventually found his own fist to suck on.

It was so exciting to pack Tytan up in his car seat and go home! As with every other first time experience, he was not initially very fond of the car seat, but he warmed up to it quickly and fell right to sleep. Mommy and Daddy are so happy to have him home at last!

Okay, so Chelsea deferred the opportunity of dropping the news to me. Please bear with me, as I am an inexperienced and very nervous blogger! My aim is to express my infinite love and gratitude for my beautiful Eternal Companion, Chelsea. She is the real hero behind this story. After 9 long, difficult months we welcomed Tytan Arona Faiva to our little family. He was 8lbs. 1.6oz and 20 inches long. He looks a lot like his Daddy, but with his Mommy's stunning good looks! How we love him! Here are a few pics of the awesome event:

After my shower I was able to put together the Nursery for Tytan. Well, I didn't so much put it together. I had so much help from everyone. Randall, his mom and I painted, my mom did the wallpaper, and my dad and Randall put together the furniture. The Ultimate Shower

My Mother-in-Law hosted an incredible Baby Shower for me on Saturday. The food was scrumptious, the games were fun, and there was a huge abundance of both guests and gifts!

On the right is my wonderful Mother-in-Law. She is certainly an incredible host and made my shower so awesome. Thanks mom!

My mom was also a HUGE contributor to the success of my shower. She made some delicious food and organized the group gift. Thanks mom for all that you do!

Here's a shout out to the most incredible Sister-in-Law a girl could have! Kendra is AMAZING and planned all of the games for my shower. She had handcrafted goodies for the winners and made the shower tons of fun. My niece Jadyn was such a big help too. I'm sure Kendra couldn't have done it without her! Thanks again girls!

Finally, I would be so ungrateful if I didn't express my appreciation to all of those who contributed heavily with gifts, support, and love. Thanks to all the Aunties, Cousins, Grandparents and friends who made my shower so wonderful!

Back to the Bay

Am I the only one who has been totally oblivious to the greatness of the Bay Area, so fondly referred to by many as "The Bay!"? Prior to meeting Randall, I had no idea that anyone took such great pride in being from a certain place. Apparently being from The Bay automatically enlists you in a seriously cool club; one that I had heard so much about but never experienced. Randall had been dying to go back to his beloved Bay Area, so we made the journey out to San Jose. On this particular day we took a day trip to San Francisco and enjoyed all the goodness that Pier 39 has to offer: Mini donuts, fresh (delicious and expensive!) cherries, the chocolate shop (we even had chocolate covered potato chips!), and of course the beautiful weather. Here are a few pics of us at the Pier:
We also took the opportunity to visit the beach in Santa Cruz. It was beautiful, and ridiculously freezing. I have NEVER felt water this cold in my entire life. I mean honestly, the water caused serious pain to my flesh. For that reason, I stayed out of the water and just enjoyed the view (the crashing waves, the water for miles, and the crazy people actually getting in the water.)

Bermuda Beach Babes

As part of my incredibly awesome Job, we get to go on a yearly trip to reward us for a previous year well done. This year was the exciting and beautiful destination of Bermuda! We had an awesome week of lounging on the beach, eating ridiculously fancy food (all complimentary of MetLife), and even went on a Catamaran Snorkeling Trip. Here are a few pics of the trip:

Takin' a Bite Out of the Big Apple!

Randall and I have both always wanted to visit New York. Luckily, we finally had the opportunity to live the dream. I wouldn't call the trip much of a "vacation" only because vacationing should be relaxing and refreshing and NY is definitely neither of those! The hustle and bustle of the city is just as real in person as it is on TV. The taxi drivers really are that crazy and the streets are always swarmed with masses of people. Yet amongst all the craziness of the city life is a world of beautiful architecture, amazing history, and so much more. 3 days was not enough to capture it all...but we enjoyed every minute and every penny spent in the famed city. Below are a few of the memories captured on our trip to the Big Apple!

One of the best things that we did in NY was see a Broadway Show. The musical we saw was called "Cry Baby", a fifties style show about the bad boy getting with the good girl. We had awesome seats and the show was incredible. I dare say this was the best night spent in NY.

And finally...Let's not forget the Naked Cowboy! This guy spends his time playin the guitar on the streets in Time Square. I suggested Randall pick up a similar side job...I mean come on now, he CAN play the guitar!

Momma knows Best!

Today was a fun and crazy day in the world of Faiva! For those who don't know, we are expecting our very first baby in September. Today was our 18 week ultrasound. Now let me brief you all before I continue with recounting today's events -- Randall and I had this fun little guessing game going on and I was convinced this baby was a boy. He, on the other hand, knew without a doubt that the baby was definitely a girl. So...at our 12 week ultrasound, the tech told us that she could possibly determine the sex. (Early, I know! Crazy what they can do these days!) She looked around for a little bit, poked and prodded our lil bundle of joy, and then said, "Now I can't be 100% sure, but I'm going to say it's a girl". Ahh! How could my maternal instinct be so off?! I mean really...I wouldn't even look at girl names because I was so sure it was a boy. But, with that, we announced the exciting news of a little girl and I quickly became excited about dresses and bows and even planned the decor in my nursery. Now skip forward 6 weeks, and here we are again sitting in the lobby awaiting our turn to get a little sneak peek at our precious lil girl. This time around my in-laws and my mom joined in the fun. Every time we saw something on the screen we would say, "Oh she's so cute!" or "Wow! Look how big she is!". The tech of course questioned why we were referring to the baby as a girl, and we explained the previous ultrasound experience. She consented to confirm the gender of our lil one. So, what did she tell us?! "Well...it looks like your she is a HE!" I was shocked!! I turned to Randall and the first words out of my mouth were, "I was right! So much for paternal instinct!". We then saw a few very unmistakable shots of HIS boy parts. It was a fun surprise, and we anxiously await the arrival of our sweet little BOY!
